A New Era of Intelligence on the Construction Site

A construction site is constantly changing. Walls rise, materials move, machines operate and hundreds of decisions are made around what is happening on the ground. But what if all of that activity could be captured, understood and turned into actionable information? That is the idea behind Procore’s acquisition of DroneDeploy, announced in July 2026. The move brings DroneDeploy’s reality-capture capabilities together with Procore’s construction management platform, with the goal of creating a more connected view of what is happening across a jobsite.

DroneDeploy uses drones, robots and 360° cameras to capture visual data from construction sites. This information can then be transformed into digital representations of physical spaces, helping teams document progress, identify issues and compare what is actually being built with what was planned.

Combined with Procore’s platform, this visual intelligence is intended to connect what teams see in the field with the project information they already use to manage schedules, costs, quality and safety.

The acquisition is valued at approximately $845 million, making it a significant investment in the growing convergence of construction and technology.

More importantly, it points towards a different future for construction management, one where a jobsite is not simply observed by people but continuously captured by machines and interpreted through data.

The construction site of tomorrow may still be filled with concrete, steel and heavy machinery. But increasingly, its most valuable asset could be the information it generates.
