Powered by the A20 Pro chip, iPhone Duo features a dual battery system, advanced thermal management and a redesigned version of iOS 27 built around its two displays. When opened, the larger screen supports Split View multitasking, allowing users to work across two apps at once, while the folding design introduces new possibilities for photography, video calls and content consumption. Apple has also focused heavily on durability, using grade 5 titanium, Ceramic Shield and an IP68 rating.

The significance of iPhone Duo may ultimately lie beyond its specifications. By bringing its first foldable device into the iPhone family, Apple is entering a category that has been evolving for years and putting its own interpretation on what a smartphone can become. Pre orders begin on October 16, with availability from October 23, starting at $1,999 in the US. The next chapter of the smartphone may no longer be about making the screen larger.
