Gaming Just Got a Serious Speed Upgrade

What happens when a gaming monitor stops being just a screen and starts becoming part of the competitive edge? Samsung is pushing that question further with its 2027 Odyssey gaming monitor lineup, unveiled at Gamescom 2026 with a collection of new displays designed around speed, immersion and flexibility. At the top of the lineup is the 49-inch Odyssey OLED G9, the world’s first 49-inch DQHD gaming monitor with a 360 Hz refresh rate. Players can also switch to Dual HD resolution at up to 720 Hz, prioritising speed when every fraction of a second matters.

The new 32-inch OLED G8 takes versatility further, offering three modes: UHD at 360 Hz, QHD at 520 Hz and FHD at 680 Hz, allowing players to balance image quality and performance depending on the game. Meanwhile, the 42-inch curved OLED G7 introduces a new screen format with a 1000R curve and 4K OLED visuals, while the 27-inch Odyssey G6 pushes competitive gaming into another league with a staggering 1,100 Hz refresh rate in HD.

Samsung is also expanding HDR10+ GAMING support to more than 20 AAA titles by the first half of 2027, alongside its growing Odyssey 3D gaming ecosystem. With faster refresh rates, flexible display modes and increasingly immersive visuals, Samsung's latest lineup suggests that the future of gaming may be measured not only in graphics, but in how quickly the screen can keep up with the player.
