From Farm Work to Smart Farming: CLAAS Unveils the New ARION 5 CMATIC

A tractor may look like a machine built simply to pull, lift and move. But as agriculture becomes increasingly connected, the modern tractor is becoming something more: a mobile platform where power, precision and digital intelligence work together. That is the thinking behind the new ARION 5 CMATIC, unveiled by CLAAS at Innov-Agri in France.

The new four-cylinder series comprises three models delivering up to 180 hp and 730 Nm of torque, combining compact dimensions with the capability to handle demanding work across fields, grassland, transport and farm operations.

At its heart is the CMATIC continuously variable transmission, supported by adaptive drivetrain management and CLAAS' AUTO LOAD ANTICIPATION system. By anticipating changes in load, the system can adjust engine speed and transmission behaviour before demanding conditions affect performance.

But the innovation extends beyond mechanical performance. With CLAAS connect, CEMIS 1200 and CEMOS DIALOG, operators can manage tasks, monitor machine data, optimize field operations and even share guidance tracks between machines. Comfort has also become part of the equation. A suspended cab, PROACTIV front axle suspension, optional massage and climate-controlled seats, multimedia connectivity and up to 20 LED lights are designed around the realities of long working days.

The ARION 5 CMATIC ultimately reflects a broader shift in agriculture: the tractor is no longer just a source of power. It is becoming an intelligent partner in getting the job done.
