Bosch Reinvents the Urban eBike with a Smarter, Sleeker Line-Up

City cycling is getting a sophisticated upgrade as Bosch eBike Systems introduces its first-ever hub motor, the Hub Line, marking a new chapter in the company’s approach to urban mobility. Designed specifically for city riding, the lightweight motor combines responsive performance with a minimalist form that blends almost invisibly into the bicycle.

Delivering 45 Nm of torque, the Hub Line provides lively yet controlled assistance, making everyday situations such as starting at traffic lights and tackling moderate inclines easier. Weighing approximately 5.1 lbs, the motor also contributes to a lighter, more agile riding experience. Above 25 km/h, it decouples to allow riders to continue pedalling naturally, with virtually no additional resistance.

Complementing the motor is Bosch’s new PowerTube 360 battery. With a slim 2.7-inch diameter and a weight of around 4.6 lbs, it enables cleaner frame integration while delivering 360 Wh of energy and a range of more than 50 miles, depending on conditions. Bosch has also expanded the smart ecosystem with a new ConnectModule, offering enhanced theft protection and more precise tracking through Bluetooth Low Energy, GPS and cellular connectivity. The redesigned LED Controller, around 65% smaller than its predecessor, provides intuitive handlebar control, while the minimalist Intuvia 200 display offers clear, easy-to-read information.

Together, these innovations bring performance, connectivity and understated design into one coordinated system positioning the eBike not simply as a mode of transport, but as a smarter part of modern city life.
